![]() Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi EF-S 18-55 Kit Free Driver Download for Mac OSX. Hello, Today I have installed, on my Mac iBook G4 (OS: 10.4.2), the soft provided with the Rebel XT. All the steps have been followed as per the Canon documentation. The facts: ° when I switch the XT on (with the USB cable coupled), this is Apple iPhoto which is poping-up, prompting me with a download question (unlike the Canon documentation says, iPhoto does not prompt a choice.). So I stop iPhoto then. ° I can start the 'CameraWindow' software, but is stops very quickly, stating thet there is not connection to the camera (when there is one for iPhoto.) My questions: • how can I access the camera (other soft? I have a legal copy of Adobe PS CS on this Mac,but I never used it) • how can I get the RAW files which are on the camera? IPhoto does provide access to the jpegs, not to the RAW. On a Pc, when a USB device is plugged in, this is possible to access the card content. • how can I prevent iPhoto to pop-up when I connect the XT? Any help will be appreciated, (sorry for the entry-level english, I recently moved from Belgium to Calgary. I guess that my humble language skills will improve over the months.). Hi, I too have Mac OX 10.4.2 Tiger and a 350D Rebel XT. My workflow is to use Image Capture instead of iPhoto. To do this open Image Capture in your Mac's Applications folder and go Image Capture-> Preferences in the menu. Once Image Capture Preferences are open, for Camera choose: When a camera is connected, open: Image Capture Close image capture and now plug the Rebel XT to the USB port. From now on Image Capture will open instead of iPhoto. Andy Goldsworthy, 'Sticks in Water', Derwent Waters in the Lake District, England (I've been there!), 1988. Water on flowvellane. When Image Capture opens it will display all the files in your camera. Select Download ALL, or Download some, if you did not erase the FLASH memory on the Rebel XT from the time of the last download. When you finish selecting, Image Capture will place the files in your user Pictures folder. Now point photoshop or your favorite RAW file application to your Pictures folder. Your RAW files will have the XT numbering ending with CR2 like, IMG_0917.CR2, for example. That is all you need. Usually I move the RAW files into a smaller subfolder within the Pictures folder. That way my top level Pictures folder does not become too crowded. I never got Canon's browser to find my XT either. I am sure is a bug. Tell Canon's customer support about the problem. Maybe Canon will fix it on time for the 5D. However, Apple's Image Capture is a good workaround. The XT is nice and works well with Mac OS X. If you want to process your RAW files with Photoshop, unfortunately, you're going to have to upgrade to CS2.
